Are you being Slack with Your Internal Comms?

Published: 24 February 2026

Would you like to simplify your internal communications with an efficient application that complements existing IT systems?

If so, then Slack could be the answer. Slack is a workplace messaging platform that helps teams communicate and collaborate in real time through channels, direct messages and integrated tools – all in one place. Created in 2013 and now owned by the cloud software and CRM company Salesforce, Slack is becoming a popular choice for workforce communication. It can also be used for external communication, but its main purpose is for employee team collaboration.

An early adopter of Slack, Lifeline IT has been using the messaging tool for more than a decade and is keen to encourage other clients to do so.

Said Daniel: “Slack has been invaluable to us as a company as it’s simple to use, secure and really cuts down on unnecessary and lengthy team communications. Many of our clients are still using emails as the main form of liaising internally, which can be laborious and time consuming. Or worse still, they are using WhatsApp, which has security and data control issues. If you haven’t considered Slack before, then now could be the time to think about introducing it.”

We highlight some of the key features of Slack that make it an advantageous addition to the workplace.

Secure – Slack has centralised admin controls so you can manage users, permissions and data securely. You are also less likely to leak data, which is possible with auto populated emails (where the email is automatically filled in with pre-set information) that are accidentally sent to the wrong recipient.

Integration – it works well with other applications, such as accounting and CRM tools, so you can work together in a secure way.

Collaboration – it’s very easy to collaborate with other people within Slack, including external partners and clients.

Organised channels – Slack keeps conversations structured by team, client, or project.

Strong search functionality – it can quickly find past messages, files and documents.

Powerful AI tools – Slack’s use of AI is perceptive and insightful, being able to summarise conversations and look for actions across multiple conversations.

If you want to know more about Slack and how you can integrate it into your business, contact Daniel, Adam or one of the Lifeline IT team.

Please note: Whilst Lifeline IT is an active user of Slack, we are not officially endorsing the product and we are not re-sellers for Slack, nor do we earn any commission from the company.
