Keeping the company’s finances in good health is all in a day’s work for Lifeline IT’s management accountant Linda Echono.

An experienced finance professional, Linda has been with Lifeline for a year and a half and is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

Tell us more about your role?
As a Management Accountant, I provide the Directors with timely management information that helps them make informed business decisions. This includes preparing management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, analysing financial performance, monitoring key performance indicators and identifying trends that can improve profitability. I also help negotiate new supplier deals to make sure we are offering best value to our clients.

What do you enjoy about the role?
I love what I do! Finance can be very repetitive, but here at Lifeline I get involved in all aspects of the business, so I understand what we do as a company and the services we provide. I really enjoy coming up with ideas to help make us more efficient as a business. Lifeline IT is such an interesting place to work, and we all collaborate as a team.

Any dislikes about the job?
There’s nothing really that I don’t like – the uniqueness of Lifeline IT makes it hard to dislike working here.

What did you do before you joined Lifeline IT?
I worked at an accounting firm for several years, where I dealt with clients across different sectors. And I was also a financial controller at Orion Safety Belts, which is the UK’s leading seat belt supplier.

What do you like about working at Lifeline IT?
Definitely the people – they are so welcoming and friendly. Lifeline IT has a real family feel which puts you at ease.

And finally, what do you enjoy doing when you’re not in work?
I’m a very quiet, indoors kind of person – I like being at home reading a book or watching a movie. I like having ‘me time’, which is quite difficult when you have four boys aged between seven and 17!
