CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF TECH WITH LIFELINE IT

Published: 4 October 2021

Lifeline IT stalwart Navdeep Batth is a stickler for excellent customer service, always going the extra mile to make sure clients have the right IT solutions.

Next month the 38-year-old Technical Director celebrates 10 years at Lifeline IT We talk to Navdeep about his role and how things have changed over the past decade.

What’s your role at Lifeline IT?
My job has evolved over the last few years. I used to be Head of Engineering but three months ago I became Technical Director. This means developing the company’s IT vision – what are the best products for ourselves and our clients and working with the engineering team to make sure we’re offering clients the right IT solutions for their business. I also work with the engineering team to make sure projects are delivered and help advise on IT solutions if there are problems.

The pandemic was difficult but I’m proud of how we handled things for our customers – many of them didn’t even have to call us as we had set up their remote working systems before they had to ask.

What’s the most challenging aspect of what you do?
Almost everything is challenging! But for me it’s the customer service that is the biggest challenge and making sure we get that right. Just telling a client to ‘re-start the computer’ is not good enough. Customer service is paramount – if the customer is happy, then that’s a success.

Understanding the customer needs and how their business operates is key to what we do. Every client is different and has different requirements and budgets, so it’s up to the team here at Lifeline IT to make sure we offer them the very best solutions.

What did you do prior to working with Lifeline IT?
I worked at Microsoft in India for about four years and then came to the UK, where I worked as an IT engineer in Birmingham. That was a great experience as I learnt so much. After that I went to Oxford and then moved to Lifeline IT, where I’ve been ever since.

What’s the best thing about working at Lifeline IT?
Definitely the freedom to learn and grow – I’ve developed a lot over the past 10 years. I started as a junior engineer and progressed from there. I got full support from Adam and Daniel – they support anyone who wants to push the boundaries and challenge themselves, which is fantastic.

And finally, hobbies outside of work?
I love motorbikes! I have a Royal Enfield which is probably the best bike in the world. During the pandemic, I’ve been riding it into London when the roads are quiet which has been great, I also enjoy movies and going to the theatre, and I love going to parks in and around London with my wife. We’ve been to parks that people probably don’t even know exist!
