AND THAT’S A WRAP… OUR REVIEW OF 2021
Published: 23 December 2021
Without doubt it’s been an exciting year for Lifeline IT.
As 2021 draws to a close, we take a look back at some of the highlights and make some predictions for 2022.
HIGHS OF 2021
Peterborough Launch
The big highlight of 2021 was the opening of our Peterborough site last month. Established as one of the fastest growing and best-connected cities, Peterborough was the ideal location for us to expand, due to its strong technology links and close proximity to the Capital.
The Tech Lifeline Podcast
Back in May we launched our first ever podcast series – The Tech Lifeline – a go-to guide to help you get the very best out of tech. Hosted by Adam and Daniel, the series covered everything from the ideal desk set-up and top tech toys, through to the best travel tech and coding for kids. Look out for a more podcasts in the new year.
Expanding the Team
This year we added several new employees to the Lifeline team, including engineers at our Peterborough office. 2021 also marked the 10-year anniversary of our long-serving Technical Director, Navdeep Batth.
New Tech Developments
The launch of Windows 11 in October was Microsoft’s first major upgrade for six years, representing a completely different look and feel with an improved user experience. Similarly, the roll-out of Apple’s Silicon M1 processor, which enables Macs to be faster, with greater battery life, was also a key development.
A LOOK TOWARDS 2022
Safe as Houses
Security will continue to be an issue in 2022 and something we need to be vigilant about, especially ransomware which remains a threat to both individuals and businesses. Look out for further advice on this in the new year.
Hybrid Working
There’s no doubt we’ve all adapted to home working, but many of us have also seen the benefits of being back in the office. Certainly at Lifeline IT we know the value of face-to-face, especially when carrying out important maintenance checks for clients. We predict that hybrid working will continue, with employees mixing between home and the office.
Many Happy Returns
And finally, next year we celebrate our 20th anniversary. We’ll be announcing more details of how we’ll be marking this landmark birthday, but for now we’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and thank you for all your support throughout 2021.
