How Non-Technical Executives can Make Sound IT Decisions
Published: 7 May 2026
Being able to make confident, financially beneficial and regulatory-compliant IT decisions can be challenging for business leaders with limited technical knowledge.
This was the subject of a roundtable event for senior decision-makers that Lifeline IT hosted in Amsterdam recently.
Held at the prestigious IGC – a historic private members’ club and business society in central Amsterdam – a group of 15 senior leaders came together to share knowledge and learn more about best practice. The roundtable was moderated by Lifeline IT’s cyber security expert Cheryl Martin, who has extensive board-level experience in implementing cyber policies and IT risk strategies, with input from Adam and Daniel.
Said Daniel: “Board-level senior executives are having to make key decisions about IT policies and budget, yet they often have limited technical knowledge. The event explored this in more detail and learnt about the pressures that companies can face when having to make choices about how best they can protect their business, customers and employees. It was an excellent session with lots of engagement and thought-provoking discussion, and we plan to hold more of these roundtables in both the UK and Amsterdam.”
